Depiction In Equestria Girls[]
Equestria Girls (2013)[]
Watermelody first appears in the first Equestria Girls film as she first appears walking on a sidewalk ahead of Canterlot High School with Sandalwood and later appears as one of the many students suddenly crowding the school foyer after the bell rings. During the song This Strange World, she appears with other dramas, sitting with Golden Hazel and applauding to Indigo Wreath after he recites from a book. When the bell rings again, she again appears suddenly filling the foyer with several other students. She next appears sitting in the cafeteria with the other dramas. The following day, she appears in a hallway with other dramas laughing at Twilight Sparkle as she walks by, and later appears sitting in the cafeteria with the other dramas during the Cafeteria Song, in which she is pulled off her chair by Pinkie Pie and dances with Blueberry Cake. The following day, she appears wearing Wondercolt ears and watching Sunset Shimmer and her henchmen walk by and later appears standing with Scott Green in the gymnasium while it is cleaned up for the Fall Formal. Later, she attends the Fall Formal, where she and the other attendees are brainwashed by Sunset Shimmer before being freed by Twilight and her new friends. When the Formal resumes she partially appears watching Twilight dance awkwardly.
In the first film, she often appears holding a skull, referencing the skull of the character Yorick in the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare.
Rainbow Rocks[]
She returns in the film Rainbow Rocks appearing sitting with Cloudy Kicks and Crimson Napalm in the cafeteria and waving to Scribble Dee and laughing while walking in the hallway with Velvet Sky during Better Than Ever. She later appears sitting in the cafeteria with other students when the Dazzlings begin to hypnotize the students, in which she gets agitated along with several other students. She later appears sitting at a table with Sophisticata at the Sweet Shoppe. She later attends the Battle of the Bands as a member of a band with fellow dramas Golden Hazel and Indigo Wreath which is presumably eliminated in the first round. During the final round, she and the other audience members are brainwashed by the Dazzlings, before being freed by the Rainbooms, after which they jeer the Dazzlings after they lose their powers.
Friendship Games[]
Watermelody reappears in the film Friendship Games in which she first appears in the gym attending the CHS pep rally. She later appears reading at a table in the library, attending the welcome party for the students from Crystal Prep Academy and at a computer in the library during the announcement for the first day of the titular event. During the Friendship Games, she appears as a silhouette cheering for Sunset Shimmer during the song ACADECA, and later appears as a spectator for the two final events; during the final event, she and Jet Set support each other during Midnight Sparkle's rampage and witnesses her opening rifts to Equestria before being defeated by Daydream Shimmer. During the film credits, she appears in photographs taken during the pep rally and the Crystal Prep welcome party.
Legend of Everfree[]
Watermelody returns in the film Legend of Everfree in which she attends the CHS field trip Camp Everfree. She makes several background appearances sitting on the bus with Captain Planet, listening to the camp's directors Gloriosa Daisy and Timber Spruce during the camp orientation and standing with Paisley near the cabins. Later, she draws a dock as a camp gift while taking ideas from the Equestria Girls and begins painting when the campers begin to build the dock. She later sits by the campfire with the other campers as they tell campfire stories. The following day, she is among the campers who see gem dust in the lake. She also appears walking by the rock climbing wall with Starlight Fitzgerald and feeling the earth quake, as well as setting off a paper lantern near the end of the day. The next day, she makes a background appearance taking a picture of the new dock entrance sign after it is completed. She and the other campers are later trapped in the camp by brambles created by a transformed Gloriosa Daisy, but are freed when the Equestria Girls defeat her. She later appears helping rebuild the dock with Sandalwood, helping prepare for the Crystal Gala fundraiser in the crystal cave, and talking to Sophisticata during the fundraiser.
Lemon Zest Rules[]
Watermelody reappears in the film Lemon Zest Rules in which she and her band Flash Drive watches the old Disney Junior TV series Jake and the Never Land Pirates with the Mane 10. In addition, she becomes confused when Enchancia's Queen Strawberry Shortcake revived Jake back to life after 50 years of death and she even watches the show itself on the way back home in Flash Sentry's blue BMW M5 F90. Given the fact that Watermelody hasn't heard the word Pixie Dust before, James explains that Pixie Dust is a gold glitter like powder and may float off the ground when covered in Pixie Dust. He warns Watermelody that the Pixie Dust is for emergency purposes only, leaving the band dismayed as they wanted to try the Pixie Dust so badly.
A Swashbuckling Vacation[]
Watermelody returns in the film A Swashbuckling Vacation in which she and her band are on a roadtrip to Washington DC, the US capital inside Prince Hugo's Klassen Sprinter bus in order to celebrate Flurry Heart's 14th birthday. Subsequently followed by the Eco-Kids, Queen Strawberry Shortcake, Fizzlepop Berrytwist, Pauly Sentry, Sofia and Amber Jewel, a delightful Watermelody is happy to meet Jake, Izzy and Cubby for the very first time.
Throughout the film, Watermelody and the convoy are dismayed when the driver becoming the DJ is the first rule of a road trip, causing the convoy to sing the song Jomblo Happy by Indonesian pop group Gamma1. In addition, she attends the funfair in which she, Ringo, James and the Eco-Kids are in line for the porta potty, disgusted when Sofia pees in bottles due to drinking too much lemonade, unable to stand the terrible smell of a pig farting and dismayed when Hugo bans them not to touch the minibar in the nearest motel room as he won't pay $7 for a chocolate chip cookie. Watermelody experiences chaos the next day when the Sprinter goes zig-zaggy due to Hugo being distracted behind the wheel calling his big brother Axel on his phone, a pig chomping her hat and the whole crew gets dizzy, but she manages to get her hat back.
She also tries to stop Principal Abacus Cinch from stealing the luggage after it falls off the trailer, got covered in shampoo after the black Infiniti M37 runs over it, attacked by seagulls due to Pauly feeding the seagulls with her tortilla chips, covered in mud and even tries to get their luggage back from Cinch. Besides that, she and the convoy jams to the song Bad Boys by Jamaican reggae group Inner Circle until the Sprinter broke down upon arrival due to overheating. However, despite all the chaos she faces, she manages to arrive at the birthday party on time.
