Kristen Elizabeth Christine Turner, known professionally as Sunny Flare, in German as Sonnig Fackel or in Spanish as Llamarada Soleada, is a female human and one of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts team featured in the film Friendship Games. She is the older sister to Princess Clio and also a close friend to Princess Sofia.

Personality[]
Sunny Flare is portrayed as being the most poised of her teammates, sharing some of Rarity's elegant and self-confident mannerisms, but with a more arrogant, rude and aloof demeanor. She also shares her school's competitive streak, poor sportsmanship and willingness to manipulate others to achieve their goals. Later on, she reveals a more conscionable side to herself when she accosts Principal Cinch for running away after her actions put both schools in danger, and later when she joins her team in rescuing Canterlot High's students.
In Crystal Prep High Rocks, Sunny Flare has been known as Sonnig Fackel derived from the German word Sonne that indicates sun.

Friendship Games[]
Sunny Flare appears in the film Friendship Games as a student of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts team. She first appears outside the bus to Canterlot High with both Fleur de Lis and Sour Sweet. When Sci-Twi inadvertently cuts the line. Sunny Flare looks at her with silent contempt and when the bus arrives, Sci-Twi accidentally knocks her over, making her even more annoyed.
During Canterlot High's welcome party for Crystal Prep, she briefly confronts Sunset Shimmer and the other Wondercolts, condescendingly calling Fluttershy dearie at one point.
In the Friendship Games' Academic Decathlon, Sunny Flare is partnered with Sour Sweet in the woodshop event, and she is eliminated from the spelling bee contest for misspelling the word RHOMBUS. She and Lemon Zest take part in the speed-skating portion of the Tri-Cross Relay, but they lose to both Pinkie Pie and Rarity.
Before the Games' final event, Sunny Flare and her team joined Abacus Cinch in pressuring Sci-Twi into releasing the magic contained in her amulet, intending to use it against CHS. They all watch in horror as the magic transforms Sci-Twi into Midnight Sparkle and Sunny Flare is the first to spy on Cinch running off in terror. As Midnight tears open multiple rifts into Equestria, Sunny Flare saves Fluttershy falling through one.
After Sci-Twi returns to normal, Sunny Flare and her team are angry at Cinch for resulting in Sci-Twi's transformation and they celebrate their shared victory with the Wondercolts.
Dance Magic[]
Sunny Flare returns in Dance Magic as she, Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat and Lemon Zest are competing with the Mane 10 in a music video contest. They later decide to join forces with the Mane 10 to film the Dance Magic music video in her street ballet outfit.
Crystal Prep High Rocks[]
Sunny Flare returns in the film Crystal Prep High Rocks as she and the rest of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts allows Princess Sofia to join the team after Amber Jewel adopts her. And thus, she also joins the expedition to 9 European countries such as Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Hungary and Switzerland.
Throughout the film, Sunny Flare climbs the alps just outside of Salzburg, Austria, learned to speak Polish in Poland, meeting Princess Amber, Princess Zooey, Moondancer, Potion Nova and Coco Pommel in the Czech Republic, doing aerobics with former fashion designer Nathellie Ballerie in France, visiting both the Alhambra palace and the Los Puertos National Park in Spain, building a sandcastle at the beach in Portimão, Portugal, go for a river cruise in the Netherlands, horseback riding in Hungary and visits the Lindt chocolate factory in Zürich, Switzerland.
The Quest for Equestria[]
Sunny Flare returns in the film The Quest for Equestria as she's among the crew who gets amazed when Jewel and Sofia adopted Jake, Izzy and Cubby, in addition to Jake driving the same W223 Mercedes-Benz S-Class just like Indigo Zap. Besides getting shocked at the old Disney Junior TV series Jake and the Never Land Pirates, she allows Jake, Izzy and Cubby to enter Crystal Prep Academy, much to the trio's joy.
Sunny Flare and the rest of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts team reappears at the recreational park in downtown Cleveland, Ohio as a frustrated Indigo Zap becomes stressful spending 3 days waiting for Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Jewel and Sofia until they spotted Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Jewel and Sofia flying high up into the air with Pixie Dust, leaving a speechless Sunny Flare. Subsequently followed by Equestria's Young 6 team (Gallus, Ocellus, Sandbar, Silverstream, Smolder and Yona), Cubby gives Sugarcoat the letter that Princess Celestia wrote to him. Afterwards, Sunny Flare allows the Young 6 to join the trip.
