Karen Michelle Elizabeth Capaldi, known professionally as Potion Nova, Miss Nova by Sofia and Amber or commonly known by her surname Nova, is a new character featured in the new TV show My Little Pony: Pony Life. She is the potion maker of the potions in Sugarcube Corner.

Nova is voiced by Chanelle Peloso in Pony Life, but now voiced by Dove Cameron across the Equestria Girls film lineup.
Appearance[]
- She is a white unicorn with a pastel mane of purple, pink and blue. Her mane and tail are curly. Her eyes are blue and her cutie mark is a pink bubbling potion in a beaker.
- Her human adaptation consists of a teal green shirt, a skirt with shades of grey, 2-tone blue-green and white sneakers and retaining her cutie mark just like her pony form.
- Her 2nd outfit consists of a turquoise buttoned, sleeveless shirt with a buckle around her hips and a white headband on her head.
Personality[]
Potion Nova is a bit eccentric, unintentionally mysterious, and very skilled in her craft. She is friendly and outgoing and not afraid to ask for help. She also has a strong desire of speaking 5 languages such as French, German, Indonesian, Malay and Spanish.

Meet Potion Nova![]
At Sugarcube Corner, the Mane 6 are bored, lamenting that they mostly get into comedic situations instead of going on adventures like they used to, and are desperate for something exciting to happen. Just then, the unicorn from the end of Potion Mystery appears. She happens to be Potion Nova or Nova and reveals she is the one who restocks Pinkie's fridge with potions every night. However, her own potion supply has run dry, and she asks the Mane 6 to escort her safely to the Potion Ocean so she can replenish her supply.
Twilight Sparkle, having been excited to meet Nova and become her apprentice, jumps at this opportunity to go on an adventure. All throughout the journey to the Potion Ocean, she expects to run into multiple magical obstacles, but the journey is mostly mundane, with Nova saying not all magic has to be flashy and exciting. When the group finally reaches the Potion Ocean, Twilight appreciates its beauty.
When asked why she needed the Mane 6's help for such a harmless adventure, Nova admits that she simply needed help carrying her new supply of potions and that she enjoyed the ponies' company. She also decides to take Twilight on as her apprentice and Twilight is overjoyed.
Pony Surfin' Safari[]
Nova returns in Pony Surfin' Safari as the Mane 6 are on vacation at the Potion Ocean and Nova warns them to stay out of a magical part of the ocean called the Cute Triangle as it may result in being lost permanently. Wanting herself and her friends to do an activity as a group, Applejack tries desperately to get everyone to roast marshmallows together, even pulling them away from activities they would prefer doing instead. Nova tells Applejack not to worry about it.
The next morning, Applejack wakes her friends up early to go on a surfing safari together, but the others set off on their own as soon as they get on the water. Fed up, Applejack angrily tells her friends to stay together inside a formation of three rocks. This rock formation turns out to be the Cute Triangle, and its magic drags the Mane 6 underwater.
With the ponies unable to escape, Applejack apologizes to her for forcing group activities upon them. Using some of the objects around them and "some good old-fashioned friendship magic", the Mane 6 escape the Cute Triangle and return to the surface. A short while later, the Mane 6 and Nova roast marshmallows together, and Applejack tells Nova that she was right all along.
Depiction In MLP: FIM x Jake and the Never Land Pirates[]
The Amber Crew's New Members[]
Nova makes her return in the MLP: FIM x Jake and the Never Land Pirates film series starting with The Amber Crew's New Members in which she is seen watching an audition made by The Amber Crew at David Hasselhoff's talent show. When she and Photo Finish watch that video together, the duo spotted two siblings with brown hair: a female playing the banjo and a male on both backing vocals and piano. The duo are also seen travelling to Ottawa, Canada with her Hyundai Equus following Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Jewel, Sofia and their children.
The Defender Diaries[]
After a long absence, Nova returns in the film The Defender Diaries in which she is seen driving her Hyundai Equus to the Mane 10's house followed by Sophisticata sitting next to her. After she and Soph are greeted by Cooper at the front door, the duo enters the house and greets the Campbell-Patterson family until Nova ended up meeting Carmen, Gabriella and Stella for the first time. When Gabby mentions that her daughter Samantha went on a long vacation, Nova and Sophisticata are willing to help.
