Syamim first appears in the film Princess Ella Sofie as he followed the Shadowbolts (Clio, Fleur de Lis, Indigo Zap, Kadence Ann, Lemon Zest, Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, Suri Polomare and Zooey) in Sour Sweet's Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Leisure RV all the way to the recreational park in downtown Newton, Massachusetts. Sour Sweet slaps James' cheeks hard, only to find team Flash Drive (Brawly Beats, Flash Sentry, James, Ringo and Watermelody) ahead of them, much to Syamim's joy. The band itself is subsequently followed by a blonde mermaid named Oona who joins the band, leaving an amazed Shadowbolts. Syamim himself is introduced by Sugarcoat to band Flash Drive and he only speaks Malay, leaving a dismayed Brawly Beats.
Throughout the film, Syamim, the Shadowbolts and team Flash Drive travels to Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park in Canada's province of Manitoba near Lake Winnipeg (subsequently followed by the Eco-Kids and the Amber Crew), having a sleepover at Fitzgerald's new house, rescuing a severely injured Cubby, Ella, Izzy, Jacob Wilde, Jake, Jaidyn Lynzee, Lyla Grace, Shining Armor, Sophie, Thea, Willa and the Mane 10 (except for Fluttershy, Sofia and Twilight) after the first war failed and shot Dread the Evil Genie to death. In addition, Syamim also takes a chance to meet Fluttershy, Sofia and Twilight at Joe's Donut Shop in Canterlot after the war ended.
Sherlock Brianna Motte[]
In the film Sherlock Brianna Motte, Syamim is mentioned by Twilight when their house was visited by the Trixie Crew (Blueberry Cake, Jade, Lucinda, Norman, Ruby Hanshaw, Snips, Snails and Trixie), the Cutie Mark Crusaders (Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Babs Seed, Vivian, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon) and Coco Pommel but spends time with his family.

Equestria's Taxi Madness[]
Syamim returns in the film Equestria's Taxi Madness in which he is seen sitting inside the rear seats of Nevada's yellow Bentley Flying Spur Speed with his pals Nazz Abdullah and Professor Hasbullah followed by former Rainbooms member Sebastian Robinson behind the wheel. After arriving at the Mane 10's house, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Sunset Shimmer reunites with their former pal until Syamim ended up meeting Nevada's little sister Utah for the first time, including Greg, Hacky Zak and Perri.
Throughout the film, Syamim enjoys eating creamy spinach spaghetti that Utah cooks for dinner and accepts a visit from Greg's big brother Cooper the next day. Subsequently followed by Cooper's wife Prudence and her parents Espen and Yuko, a speechless Yuko is shocked when Greg, Hacky Zak, Perri and Utah speaks Malay for the first time. In the ensuing scenes, Syamim returns to Equestria and reunites with both Nahwan Nafisah and former member Starlight Glimmer until he meets Kerfuffle and taxi driver Richard Stanton for the first time in Hope Hollow. Realizing that Starlight's daughter Luster is kidnapped by evil magician Boswell, Syamim and the whole troop engages a war against Boswell and challenges him into a dance battle while jamming to Michael Jackson's song They Don't Care About Us until the fat magician is shot to death.
