Lara Nicole Zimmerman, known professionally as Lemon Zest, LZ for short or in German as Zitronenschale, is a female human and one of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts team featured in the 2015 film My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Friendship Games and its following sequels. She is Zooey's older sister and Jacob Wilde's love interest. She has been miscredited as Lemon Tart during the end credits of Friendship Games.

Lemon Zest demonstrates the behavior of a wild, obnoxious rocker girl. She enjoys listening to loud music on her headphones and forces Twilight Sparkle to listen to it at one point. Like most of Crystal Prep's students, Lemon Zest is fiercely competitive and obsessed with proving her school's superiority over Canterlot High School through any means necessary. Despite this, she happily socializes with Canterlot High's students during Pinkie Pie's party, and she later helps save several students from both schools when Midnight Sparkle's rampage puts them in danger.

Friendship Games[]
Lemon Zest appears in the 2015 film My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Friendship Games as a member of Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts team. She sits next to Twilight Sparkle on the bus to Canterlot High School for the Friendship Games, sharing her deafeningly loud rock music with Twilight. She dances and mingles with Canterlot High's students during the welcoming party after Pinkie Pie helps lighten the tension between schools, but she returns to her hostile attitude after Cinch intervenes.
Lemon Zest participates in the Friendship Games' first event, the Academic Decathlon, and she is selected as the Shadowbolts' six remaining competitors after reaching the penultimate spelling bee contest. She and Sunny Flare compete in the speed-skating portion of the Tri-Cross Relay, but they lose to Pinkie Pie and Rarity despite catching up to them after the Wondercolts' early lead.
So then why can't we do the same?
Before the games' final event, Lemon Zest and her team join Cinch in pressuring Twilight into releasing the magic contained in her pendant-like device, intending to use it against Canterlot High. They all watch in horror as the magic instead transforms Twilight into Midnight Sparkle, who begins tearing open rifts to Equestria. Having a change of heart, Lemon Zest helps Indigo Zap pull Rarity, Fleur de Lis and Velvet Sky from falling through a giant rift in the ground.
After Twilight returns to normal, Lemon Zest and her team turn on Cinch for causing Twilight's transformation, and they celebrate their shared victory with the Wondercolts. She chats with DJ Pon-3 before the Crystal Prep students leave.
The Race to Equestria[]
Lemon Zest returns in The Race to Equestria as a student at the College of Education and Human Development in the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus. As it started to rain heavily outside the college, a young person with brown hair unintentionally bumped into her who happens to be Jacob Wilde, a student from the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development, studying in the same university, but different college. After introducing themselves, Lemon Zest deems Jacob that he came to the right place, despite not from around the area. In order not to catch a fever in the rain, the duo scampered to the library quickly.
At the library, Jacob and Lemon Zest started to do some research about the assassination of the Equestrian Twilight Sparkle. Given the fact that Star Swirl the Bearded write a letter to him 20 years ago back when he was in high school, she questions Jacob about Holly Westlake being the old member to Anna Louise, Jacob's mother. After Lemon Zest gave him an idea to enter Equestria, Jacob thanked her and proceeded to Canterlot High School (CHS) the next day.
Lemon Zest later reappears at the Mr. Hero Restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio along with Sofia and Amber by her sides. Given the fact that Jacob went with Sunburst from Canterlot High School to Mr. Hero, the trio joined the trip afterwards in order to bring Princess Twilight Sparkle back to life.
Throughout the film, Lemon Zest gets involved in a car chase, having a sleepover with her old pal Sugarcoat, turn into an Earth pony upon entering Equestria, bringing Princess Twilight Sparkle back to life and more.
The Quest for Equestria[]
Lemon Zest makes her first appearance across the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls and Jake and the Never Land Pirates film series starting with The Quest for Equestria as she and her pals spent too many hours waiting for Jewel and Sofia at the parking lot behind Crystal Prep Academy. Only to find a similar looking W223 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (the same car as Indigo Zap, but the S500), she and her pals ended up meeting Jake, Izzy and Cubby Edwards (from the old Disney Junior TV series Jake and the Never Land Pirates). After greeting each other, Lemon Zest puts her headphones onto Cubby's head (the same way that she did to Sci-Twi in Friendship Games), leaving an extremely annoyed Izzy as Cubby is slightly uncomfortable with the loud music.
Lemon Zest and her pals later reappears at the recreational park in downtown Cleveland, Ohio spending hours and hours waiting for Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Jewel and Sofia until they spotted them flying up into the air with Pixie Dust, leaving them shocked as they never seen both Jewel and Sofia flying up into the air like Peter Pan before. Bringing Equestria's Young 6 team (Gallus, Ocellus, Sandbar, Silverstream, Smolder and Yona) with them, Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts becomes so terrified when Equestria is invaded by a sinister sorceress named Shuriki. And thus, Sunny Flare allows the Young 6 to join the trip, much to their joy.
Midnight falls in Cleveland, Ohio as Crystal Prep Academy's Shadowbolts and the Young 6 began to leave for Oak Harbor, Washington until Clio unleashes a white 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Klassen 319 VIP in the parking lot, much to their awe. Izzy gets behind the wheel with Silverstream sitting next to her while the Shadowbolts team (including Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Jewel and Sofia) sleeps in the rear seats. Afterwards, they started to move.
