Indigo Michelle Jessica Zap, sometimes known as Indy, Indigo or Zappy, is Crystal Prep Academy's student who is the leader of the Shadowbolts. She first appears in the 2015 film My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Friendship Games and its following sequels and an older sister to Kadence Ann.

Kelly Sheridan previously played both Indigo Zap and Starlight Glimmer, but from Crystal Prep High Rocks and above, Sophia Lillis plays Starlight Glimmer and Charlize Theron plays Indigo Zap.
Personality[]

Indigo Zap has a similar personality to Rainbow Dash, in that she is extremely competitive and has an unbridled passion for winning, even by Crystal Prep Academy's standards. However, much like her schoolmates, she lacks sportsmanship and has a tendency to push others around, whether by accident or to gloat over her victories. When she believes Canterlot High School is cheating by using magic, she is willing to use peer pressure on Twilight Sparkle in order to help their team level the playing field. She later reveals a compassionate side to herself by rushing in to save her rivals when her team's actions put both schools in danger.

Friendship Games[]
Zappy appears in Friendship Games as a student of Crystal Prep Academy and a member of its sports team, the Shadowbolts. She first appears on the bus to Canterlot High School, exhibiting much more excitement about winning the Friendship Games than her fellow competitors. She startles Twilight Sparkle with her high enthusiasm and when the bus arrives, she shoves Twilight aside as she disembarks.
During Canterlot High School's welcome party for Crystal Prep, Zappy gets in both Sunset Shimmer and Rainbow Dash's faces.
Zappy participates in the Academic Decathlon of the Friendship Games, being paired with Sugarcoat during the woodshop portion. They construct a two-story birdhouse that wins the event and she gloats over her victory to Sandalwood and Micro Chips. During the spelling bee event, she is eliminated for misspelling the word CHAUFFEUR.
In the Tri-Cross Relay, Zappy is once again paired with Sugarcoat in motocross against Rainbow and Sunset. When the track is attacked by plant monsters from Equestria, Rainbow Dash saves Zappy from being devoured. She recovers and gets back in the race, but Sunset eventually wins.
During the final event, Zappy joins Cinch and the other Shadowbolts in pressuring Twilight into releasing the magic accumulated inside her amulet and she watches as the magic transforms Twilight into the monstrous Midnight Sparkle. As Midnight opens multiple rifts into Equestria, Zappy and her teammates help save their fellow students and the Wondercolts, saving Rarity with Lemon Zest's assistance.
Crystal Prep High Rocks[]
Zappy returns in Crystal Prep High Rocks as she welcomes Sofia to Crystal Prep's Shadowbolts team. In addition, she introduces herself to Sofia followed the rest of the Shadowbolts members. She also travels to Europe with her members, including Sofia to 9 European countries such as Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Hungary and Switzerland.
During the vacation, Zappy manages to speak Polish during her trip to Poland, meeting Princess Amber in the Czech Republic, doing yoga class in France, building a sandcastle in Portugal, go on a river cruise in the Netherlands, horseback riding in Hungary and visit the Lindt chocolate factory in Switzerland.
Towards the end of the film, Zappy is among the Crystal Prep students to forgive Sofia as she and the rest of the Shadowbolts attempted to follow Sofia and Amber back to Enchancia to revisit her mom.

The Journey Continues[]
Zappy returns in The Journey Continues as she and the rest of Crystal Prep's Shadowbolts are shocked when Jewel and Sofia befriends with Jade and Ruby Hanshaw, Sofia's old village pals, much to her shock as Trixie adopts them as her little sisters. She also met Ruby and Jade after school as well. Given the fact that Potion Nova and Photo Finish picked them up by the side of the road after being stranded in her Lincoln LS V6, the Shadowbolts are shocked when Nova picked them up, so she also joins the trip to Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom suggested by Trixie.
